Volare Wins the 2026 Green Transition Business Competition by Biocluster Finland
Volare has been selected as the winner of the 2026 Green Transition Business Competition organized by Biocluster Finland.

The competition recognizes companies developing innovative and scalable solutions that support the green transition. Volare was selected for its circular refining platform, which transforms food industry sidestreams into sustainable protein, oil and fertilizer ingredients through proprietary insect technology.
The jury highlighted Volare's innovativeness, scalability, environmental impact and team capability in its evaluation process. According to the jury, the company has demonstrated strong market potential, compelling commercialization prospects and a clear positioning within its competitive landscape.
"Volare meets the competition criteria exceptionally well. The company's market potential is substantial and promising, and both its commercialization prospects and mission were communicated very convincingly through concrete customer examples," said Vicktor Wahlberg, Investment Director at Taaleri Bioindustry and representative of the jury.
"The company has made a strong start, is progressing ambitiously, and has clearly demonstrated how it is best positioned within its competitive landscape to meet customer needs. The first major milestone, the completion of an industrial-scale production facility, is already just around the corner."
The recognition comes as Volare prepares for commercial production at Volare 01 in Pori and continues advancing circular solutions for the future of food.
"This win feels significant to us, as we strongly believe that the food system needs new, more resource-efficient and effective solutions," said Marko Rintanen, CFO of Volare.
"We have been building Volare ambitiously toward industrial scale. It is encouraging to see that industry stakeholders also recognize the great potential in this."
