Volare on Impact Loop: Why Investors Are Backing Volare
Impact Loop looked at why investors remain confident in Volare as we complete Volare 01, our first industrial-scale insect protein factory in Pori, Finland, despite the challenges the sector has faced.
Paavo Räisänen, General Partner at our investor Maki.vc, explained what sets Volare apart: rather than following capital-intensive production models, we’ve rethought the entire industrial process. Our model requires 4–10 times less capital expenditure than other insect protein producers.
“In industrial deep tech, the most interesting companies are those that can change the economics of an entire industry, not just improve existing technologies. Volare has the technology and the team to do that,” Paavo says.
With Volare 01 completed on schedule and within budget, and a significant share of its capacity already sold, we’re ready for the next phase of growth.
