Volare 01 Featured in Yle: Scaling Sustainable Protein Across Europe
Finland’s national public broadcaster, Yle, visited Volare’s newly completed insect protein factory in Pori to get a firsthand look at one of the world’s largest production facilities of its kind.
Completed on time and within budget, our 10,000 m² facility is preparing to enter commercial production, with the capacity to produce up to 5,000 tonnes of sustainable protein annually.
Through a highly automated process, Volare 01 transforms food industry side streams into high-grade insect protein and oil for aquaculture, pet food and industrial applications, helping create more sustainable alternatives to conventional feed ingredients.
And our ambitions extend well beyond Finland. As CEO Jarna Hyvönen shared with Yle, demand for insect protein is growing across Europe, and we're already exploring opportunities to bring the Volare concept to new markets.
