Volare’s entire process is designed to minimize emissions – ours and our partners. We believe in creating tangible positive impact. That's why our plants use about 30% less energy than our competition. That's why we are 100% committed to using only sustainable energy sources.

Our technology and raw material choices help make the emissions of our protein and oil production significantly lower than traditional alternatives. And compared to other biowaste treatment methods, our emissions are 1/22 of those of typical biogas treatment and only 1/80 of those of composting.

Our insect protein production method consumes a minimal amount of water. 97% less fresh water is used to produce 1 kg of our protein compared to 1 kg of soy protein. And compared to producing 1 kg of beef protein we use 99% less water.

According to FAO currently 46% of the Earth’s habitable land is used for food production. Land is becoming a scarce resource that should be protected. We use only 0.01 sq.m. of land to produce 1 kg of protein per year. That is fully 99% less than the area used for producing 1 kg of typical soy isolate or 1 kg of poultry meat.

Everything that comes into our plant leaves as a high-quality product – protein, oil or fertilizer. We create no new side streams. Instead, raw materials are upcycled back to circulation.

Our process is very similar to the one designed by mother nature –there is no need to use any additional, harmful chemicals.

We are fully compliant with EU sustainable finance disclosure regulations articles 8 & 9. We are thus also working towards five UN sustainable development goals:
